Just the start to a three week jaunt around Norway, Sweden and Estonia. We hit Bergen today on a gorgeous, sunny, warm day(that is if you consider 58 warm????) The Norwegians were standing in long lines for that special ice cream treat. Brrrrr….  After having flown all night and changing planes in Amterdam we arrived into the small and charming airport of Bergen Norway, located on Norways west coast and in the middle of the Fiords. Unslept, I decided to take a nice long hike to the top of Mount Floyen while Hubby decided to catch a couple of winks. The hike was straight up for about one hour and about 15 minutes back. There is a small cog train that takes riders up and down to the top of Mount Floyen all day long ,so all can enjoy the gorgeous views over looking Bergen and it’s many bays and islands. Bergen is the 2nd largest city in Norway but still not very large. Most outdoor adventures await you here. Fabulous hiking, biking, rafting, etc. the famous fish market is a must see and taste. Great picture taking here!

Ok, it is a new day. Had to crash last night. An entire day of rain today. Waterproof shoes are a must. Took the bus out to Old Bergen today. Old Bergen is an outdoor museum with all all sorts of old wooden, authentic buildings from the 1800’s.  It was fabolous. They had kids in from a local summer program. They acted as actors from back in the older days. They were having a ball. We were the only ones there so we got to see all top billing and were able to interact with the local kids. On to catch the Hurtigruten now. We are on the Nordnorge ship, one of 14 ships that head go either north or south daily from Bergen in the south or Kirknes in the north.  More later.
